ZKU Implant

During cataract surgery, lens implants are used to replace the clouded lens for clearer vision and improved quality of life. The ZKU implant is a new lens technology that our team is excited to be able to use! For more information regarding this lens and how it can benefit you, contact our office today.

What is the ZKU Implant?

Dr. Hyder recently completed the first ZKU implant in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York, Delaware, and Maryland. He was honored that Johnson and Johnson trusted him to be the first surgeon in this region to implant this new and exciting lens. This new lens technology, which has been used for many years in Europe and has recently been approved by the FDA in the United States, is capable of correcting nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism, and presbyopia. It is now possible that individuals who have worn glasses their entire life may become glass-free forever following the implantation of this revolutionary lens.

This lens was not available for other surgeons to use until July 2020. Dr. Hyder performed his first cases in May 2020. If you have questions about this exciting new technology please, contact Eye Care Physicians and Surgeons of New Jersey today.

Candidates for the ZKU Implant

Individuals with cataracts who wish to improve their overall vision can benefit from the ZKU implant. A consultation with one of our skilled eye care physicians is the best way to determine if you can benefit from these implants.

This one lens implant can correct nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism, and presbyopia. More importantly, this and other multifocal premium implants unlike bifocals only correct near vision in the lower field of vision, correct vision 360 degrees without the dizziness induced by bifocals.
